The tri-county competition which included Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties started off with participation from 31 elementary, middle, and high schools represented by more than 125 teams, according to Dr. Lisa Milenkovic, Supervisor, STEM+Computer Science for Broward County Public Schools.
In Round 1, the teams submitted video tours of their Minecraft-designed world for judges to determine the district semifinalists.
Teams were judged by a panel from outside South Florida and winners were selected based on points earned on the rubric.
