FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A body was discovered in a waterway in Fort Lauderdale Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

The waterway is located near the 1600 block of West Broward Boulevard.
Authorities said Fort Lauderdale police officers and detectives arrived at the scene just after noon to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
Sky 10 flew over the scene around 1:15 p.m., where officers were surveying the wooded area after placing a white tarp over the body.
They said the investigation remains ongoing and no further details about the victim were immediately released.
