Cup of Joy: Decade after helping mother to deliver baby, police officer does it again

Officer Steve Matthews is the star of Tuesday morning’s Cup of Joy.

Donovan Johnson and Tasha Allstott were home with their newborn daughter on Monday grateful for Matthews’s experience.

Matthews was the first to respond to Johnson’s 911 call after his pregnant wife Allstott woke up scared with contractions.

Matthews, who had delivered a baby a decade ago, was at the couple’s home early Friday morning in Sartell, Minnesota.

Matthews knew what to do to help Allstott deliver Patience, a baby girl weighing 7 pounds, 12 ounces.
