MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies were investigating a shooting in the unincorporated Biscayne Gardens area Saturday morning that left a woman dead and two children in critical condition.
It happened near Northeast 141st Street and Second Court.
Local 10 News saw a black Ford Explorer riddled with about a dozen bullet holes.
An MDSO spokesperson said “multiple shooters” are believed to have fired into the SUV, killing the woman and critically wounding an 11-year-old girl and 12-year-old boy.
The two children were rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in Miami.
A neighbor told Local 10 News that her daughter was home at the time of the shooting and described the gunshots as “several loud booms.”
Authorities have not yet released the names of anyone involved.
They said they were working to determine the relationship between the three victims.
Detectives said they towed three vehicles, one of them belonging to the victims. They believe the other two vehicles had some sort of involvement in the crime.
Deputies haven’t said whether they’ve identified any suspects or a motive.
They said it wasn’t clear whether the victims lived nearby or what they were doing in the area.
