More than 7,000 associates volunteered this year for more than 150 service projects.

Primarily focusing on environmental efforts, the associates planted trees, cleaned parks and participated in water conservation activities.

Last week, Publix associates cleaned up Birch State Park in Fort Lauderdale.

“Our commitment to environmental sustainability started with our founder, George Jenkins, and remains strong today,” said Publix CEO Kevin Murphy. “I’m proud of the thousands of associates who donate their time volunteering.”

In addition to Publix Serves, the company highlights associates who are dedicated to the environment through their everyday acts.
