Osiel Peraza, who was born in Cuba’s Pinar del Rio, appeared in court on Tuesday facing charges of attempted robbery by sudden snatching, burglary, and criminal mischief.

Inmate records show Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office correctional deputies booked Peraza shortly before 2:40 a.m., on Tuesday at the Turner Guilford Correctional Center.

According to the police arrest report, a Taco Bell employee at 6310 South Dixie Highway reported that Peraza was angry because they were taking too long with a $14.49 burrito and quesadilla.

According to the arrest report, the Taco Bell worker told police officers that he was at a pickup window handing a $21.41 order to another driver when Peraza pulled on the bag until all of the food ended up on the floor.

The Taco Bell employee accused Peraza of breaking the latch of the window during the conflict. Police officers responded to the restaurant at 11:20 p.m., on Monday, and arrested Peraza.

A judge ordered Peraza to stay away from the victim and set his bond at $3,500.
