Deputies investigate shooting that left man dead in Naranja

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Deputies are investigating a shooting that they say left a man dead in southwest Miami-Dade’s Naranja area on Tuesday afternoon.

It happened just after 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of Southwest 268th Street and Southwest 139th Avenue.

Upon arrival, deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said they located a man on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound.

They said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police have since identified him as 35-year-old Gregory Trevon Norman.

Sky 10 flew over the scene, where deputies were placing caution tape near a wooded area.

Authorities have not released any information about a possible suspect or motive at this time.

Detectives said MDSO’s Homicide Bureau will take over the investigation.
