The location at 951 West Sunrise Boulevard was inspected on April 21 and inspectors found three violations, including the discovery of rodent droppings on a shelf stocked with pet food. A stop-use order was immediately issued for the affected retail area.

According to the inspection report, the store was also operating without a valid food permit.

Inspectors ordered the business to clear all merchandise from the affected storage areas and to clean and sanitize the space thoroughly. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has scheduled a re-inspection within 14 days.

If there is still evidence of a pest issue at the time of re-inspection, officials say they will issue an expanded stop-use order, preventing the location from receiving any additional food shipments until the problem is resolved.

Customers concerned about product safety are advised to check expiration dates and packaging carefully. Complaints about unsanitary conditions at retail food establishments can be submitted to the Florida Department of Agriculture’s consumer hotline or through its online portal.
