As faithful mourn Pope Francis, Vatican police carry unique anti-drone gun

VATICAN CITY – Security is tight in Vatican City as thousands make their way in order to pay their respects to Pope Francis.

Armed police are everywhere, checking bags and credentials, and helping with crowd control.

Additionally, some officers are armed with a very unique weapon.

The gun had multiple barrels and police said it’s used to shoot down any drones.

Drones are not permitted to fly anywhere in the area and authorities said they are actively watching out for anything in what is considered a no-fly zone.
