Officers with the Homestead Police Department said they responded to a battery with injuries call and found the victim bleeding from cuts on his leg.

A witness told officers the woman, identified in an arrest report as 54-year-old Philome Joseph, used to live at the home and got into an argument with the man while they were cleaning.

The witness said the situation escalated when Joseph hurled the bottle at the victim, the report stated.

The man, whose name was not included in the arrest report, corroborated the witness’s statement and told officers that Joseph had been causing problems since she was asked to leave the day before, police said.

Joseph, who refused to cooperate and only spoke Creole, was taken into custody and transported to the HPD headquarters for booking, according to police.

They said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel also responded to the call and treated the victim at the scene for minor injuries.

Jail records show Joseph is facing one count of aggravated battery with a weapon causing great bodily harm.

As of Friday afternoon, she is being held on a $5,000 bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
