According to an arrest report from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the victim’s niece is her legal guardian and confirmed that the victim suffers from an illness, is nonverbal and is bedridden.
Deputies said the victim is now in hospice care and the suspect, Timothy Morris, 66, often assists with her care when the hospice staff is not around.
According to the report, a nurse recently notified the victim’s niece that she noticed some kind of discharge coming from the victim’s vagina.
The victim told deputies that she became concerned and hid a Ring camera in the victim’s bedroom.
According to the report, the niece received a Ring notification at about 2 p.m. Wednesday, alerting her that someone was in the victim’s bedroom.
Deputies said the niece then viewed the feed and saw Morris raping her aunt.
Morris was arrested on a charge of sexual battery on a victim who is physically incapacitated.
As of Thursday afternoon, he was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center where online jail records listed his bond as “to be set.”
