U.S. Navy Blue Angels set to headline this weekend’s Fort Lauderdale Air Show

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The beach is set for the Air Dot Show in Fort Lauderdale.

Eight headlining acts, including the Blue Angles, will entertain crowds this weekend.

“We are looking forward to inspiring millions of people that may come out,” said Lieutenant Commander Natalia Luchetti.

The Blue Angel demonstration squadron is in South Florida to headline the show.

“Our reception here has been absolutely fantastic and warm and kind,” said Blue Angel Commander Jack Keilty. ”We are so fired up to send this weekend here.”

It’s a return to Fort Lauderdale for Angles who last appeared in the show back in 2023, and they are ready to take the excitement sky high with their first over water show this year.

“I’ve been in the navy 24 years and every time they take flight I feel like I’m five years old,” said Luchetti. “I can’t believe those are my friends in the air, they are truly my family. I’ve very giddy.”

So what can you expect to see in the sky? For starters, the aircraft the Angles named Fat Albert and the F-18 Super Hornet fleets that serve as front line fighter jets.

For 40 minutes, not only is the show filed with twenty different maneuvers, like the diamond formation, to loops, rolls and passes, all while reaching speeds over 400 miles per hour within feet of each other.

The Fort Lauderdale Air Show runs May 3 and 4.
