MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Deputies arrested a 48-year-old man on Friday accusing him of stabbing three people with a knife after his wallet vanished at a third-floor apartment in Miami-Dade County.

According to the deputies’ arrest report, Daniel Lopez accused the trio of stealing his wallet, stabbed them -- including one in the head -- and fled.

Detectives reported Lopez jumped from the third-floor balcony at 12980 SW 246 St., ran to a nearby field, and hid under an abandoned boat.

Deputized dogs and M-DCSO deputies in a helicopter found Lopez late Friday afternoon.

“I am going to beat this case. Those three are drug addicts; I am the innocent one here,” Lopez said in Spanish after his arrest, according to the M-DCSO deputies’ report.

Inmate records show Miami-Dade correctional deputies booked Lopez at 8:25 p.m., at the Turner Guilford Correctional Center. He faced three counts of second-degree attempted murder and one count of resisting arrest without violence.
