According to MCSO spokesman Adam Linhardt, deputies spotted Robert John Hermanson, 59, sleeping at the Crane Point Museum and Nature Center in Marathon around 3 a.m. Tuesday where multiple no trespassing signs are posted.

Linhardt said Hermanson gave deputies a false name, date of birth and Social Security number, but his real name was learned shortly thereafter.

Deputies also learned that Hermanson had an active arrest warrant from Miami-Dade County.

According to Linhardt, Hermanson “ignored a deputy’s commands and spit in his face. He also pushed and pulled away while being arrested.”

Hermanson was then booked into jail.

He faces charges of battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and providing false information to law enforcement.
