Police: Man arrested after running from traffic stop, leaving 3-year-old behind in car

MIRAMAR, Fla. – An arrest was made Sunday following a police pursuit in Miramar.

It happened near Arcadia Drive and Miramar Parkway.

According to police, the suspect fled on foot from a traffic stop but was quickly apprehended.

That suspect, who police have yet to identify, is being held on two felony warrants, as well as traffic-related charges, police said.

Officers said a 3-year-old was found in the vehicle, and that the child is safe and under the care of the Department of Children and Families.

Authorities did not indicate what relationship, if any, the child has with the suspect.
