Police identify suspect who opened fire on vehicle in Checkers parking lot

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Police in North Miami Beach are seeking a suspect seen on video opening fire on a vehicle with people inside.

The incident happened on March 7 of last year at a Checkers located along the 1700 block of Northeast 162nd Street.

Video obtained by Local 10 news shows the suspect get out of his vehicle and fire off nine rounds at the victims’ vehicle.

Inside were young women in their 20s who had just pulled into Checkers to get some food.

Police said the victims had no idea who the gunman was.

Now after more than a year, officers say they have identified their suspect as Jose Noel Gonzalez who goes by the nickname Pito.

The victims told police this all began when they pulled into a parking space and flashed their headlights at another car.

Apparently, the suspect wasn’t too happy and just came out firing his gun with no regard for life or property.
