Police officers responded to a report of a shooting and found Yoendris Campos dead at 3:05 p.m. at 710 E. Ninth St.

Police officers set up a perimeter in the area of the apartment complex and arrested Pedro Blanco, the suspect.

Executive Officer Jose Torres, a spokesman for the Hialeah Police Department, described the shooting as a “dispute between neighbors.”

“Mr. Blanco approached the apartment where Mr. Campos was visiting and knocked on the door,” Torres wrote. “When no one answered, he walked back to his own apartment.”

Torres reported Campos opened the door to see who had knocked.

“Blanco returned and fired a single shot, striking Mr. Campos and fatally wounding him,” Torres wrote.

Detectives were on the second floor of the apartment complex. They asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 to remain anonymous.
