Humane Society of Greater Miami needs homes for puppies, mom, ‘Waffle’

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – The Humane Society of Greater Miami is working to find forever homes for a litter of puppies, their mother, and one special senior dog named Waffles.

Waffles is a 9-year-old medium-sized dog who has spent more than a year at the shelter.

Staff say he’s full of love and affection, calling him a “perfect Velcro dog” for how closely he bonds with people. Despite his sweet nature, Waffles has been overlooked time and again.

The Humane Society of Greater Miami, located in North Miami Beach, is dedicated to rescuing homeless animals in Miami-Dade County and connecting them with loving families.

Among the latest arrivals is a litter of three affectionate puppies — each still looking for a home — along with their mother.

The shelter is also preparing for its 27th annual Brunch for the Animals on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Level Three venue inside Aventura Mall.

Tickets are still available, and furry companions are welcome.
