MIAMI – A South Florida woman whose son is in the New Orleans jail where multiple inmates recently escaped is expressing concern for his safety.
Tyrianna Fedison said she had a phone call with her son Saturday after the lockdown at the Orleans Parish jail was lifted.
Keithan Fedison, 20, is facing several charges, including an armed robbery charge, and has been in the Orleans Parish jail since 2022.
His mother, who lives nearly a thousand miles away in Miami, said she can’t believe the breakdown in security at that jail. She worries for her son’s safety every day.
“Be honest, what’s going on back there? This is a child I birthed,” Tyrianna Fedison said. “How could y’all let all of these things be happening in the facility?”
Fedison says she’s extremely frustrated after reports of defective locks at the jail and that the escaped inmates may have had help from the inside.
She wants to see the sheriff and others held accountable.
