MIAMI – Surveillance video obtained Tuesday by Local 10 News shows one of two homicides in Miami that reportedly occurred at the hands of the same man earlier this year.
The video shows a man approaching one of the victims on the morning of Jan. 16 while holding what appears to be a stick.
He then hits the man over the head with the stick multiple times.
The victim would not survive.
The killing happened on North Miami Avenue and Sixth Street.
According to authorities, someone called 911 shortly after 6 a.m. that morning, saying a man was beating up people with a stick in the area.
Police said two homeless men were attacked and beaten by the man before he went on to attack a couple. Police said all four victims are homeless.
Officers have since identified the suspect as 37-year-old Brenton Clarke.
He faces two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, and one count of armed robbery with a deadly weapon.
A motive for the attacks remains unclear.
