SUNRISE, Fla. ā A suspect who was arrested Wednesday following a double stabbing at an apartment complex in Sunrise refused to appear in bond court Thursday.
Police identified the suspect as Jackson Julian Sagesse, Jr., 21, of Sunrise.

According to his arrest report, one of the victims called 911 at 1:42 a.m. Wednesday and said he had been stabbed in the neck at The Retreat at Sawgrass Village, located at 3000 NW 130th Ave.
A responding officer then spotted the victim in the front of the complex with a puncture wound to his throat.
Despite his injuries, he was still able to speak with officers and told them that someone had stabbed him in the apartment complexās parking garage and then fled on foot.
The victim described the suspect as a heavy-set Black male with an afro.
According to the arrest report, the man told police that his female friend also had been stabbed and was still inside his rented vehicle in the parking garage.
Police said they approached the black Mercedes-Benz sedan on the first floor of the parking garage and found the woman unresponsive on the floorboard of the backseat.
She had multiple visible stab wounds to her neck and throat, authorities said.
A knife that appeared to be part of a set of steak knives was also found on the front passenger seat of the vehicle, the report stated.
According to the report, the woman, identified as Hailey Hosford, 28, of Boca Raton, was pronounced dead at the scene.
āShe was very into her work and business and traveling,ā said Erica Rheingold, a friend of the victim. āYoga retreats, all that stuff.ā
Police said Sagesse was taken into custody a few minutes later and a steak knife was found in his front right pocket.
According to the report, Sagesse provided a confession to detectives but his full statement was redacted from the publicly released report.
As of Thursday afternoon, Sagesse was being held at the Broward Main Jail without bond. He faces charges of murder and attempted murder.
