PLANTATION, Fla. – A large tree that had been blocking the roadway at 620 East Tropical Way in Plantation has been cleared, and traffic is once again flowing through the area, police said Saturday evening.

The tree was one of several impacts being reported across South Florida as a line of gusty showers and storms moved through the area.
According to the National Weather Service in Miami, widespread wind gusts of 35 to 45 mph were observed throughout the region.
NWS meteorologist said powerful winds even caused a significant temperature drop. They said Miami International Airport fell from 92 degrees to 76 degrees in less than an hour.
Authorities said no injuries were reported in connection with Saturday afternoon’s storm.
