According to an arrest report obtained Monday by Local 10 News, the incident occurred around 3 a.m. Friday at an apartment complex in the area of 14897 NE 18th Ave.

North Miami police said the property manager contacted them Friday and showed them six different videos that showed different angles of the incident.

According to the report, the videos show Christopher Pierre, 22, walking the dog in the courtyard of the complex.

He then put a leash on the dog’s collar, but the dog laid down, appearing to not want to walk or leave the courtyard, authorities said.

Police said Pierre then dragged the dog through the hallway “in an aggressive manner” and continued to “yank and drag” the dog until it appeared to be incapacitated.

According to the report, Pierre then picked up the dog and threw it up the stairs before dragging the dog for another minute by the leash and then pulling the unresponsive dog into his apartment unit.

Police said a responding officer knocked on Pierre’s apartment door, but he didn’t answer.

The officer later spotted Pierre wearing the same clothing as in the videos.

The officer approached Pierre and asked him what apartment unit he lived in and whether he owned a dog.

According to the report, Pierre acknowledged that he owned a dog and brought out the dog to show the officer.

Police said the officer noted that the dog appeared to be malnourished as it was underweight and the officer could see its rib cage.

According to the report, the officer asked Pierre what occurred with the dog that morning. Pierre’s statement, however, was redacted from the publicly released report.

Pierre was arrested on an animal cruelty charge and his dog was removed by Animal Services.

Pierre appeared in court Saturday and was released on a $5,000 bond.
