AVENTURA, Fla. – More than 500 people joined the Walk Against Antisemitism Sunday in Aventura, organized by Loving Moms and Run for Their Lives.
The walk was designed to raise awareness for the 58 Israeli hostages still held in Gaza and to respond to a rise in antisemitism.
It was during a similar event last Sunday in Boulder, Colorado that a man with a homemade flamethrower allegedly set six people on fire.
“And unfortunately, we need to have protection of police when we didn’t need that (before), and this is sad,” Galdys Mezrahi said. “Hate can be stopped. We just need to change what we say and we just need to create education for everyone with respect.”
Local 10’s cameras captured a heavy police presence with officers from the Aventura Police Department and deputies from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office who were there to ensure everyone’s safety.
