Police said Michael Monheit, 31, of Loxahatchee, set off the metal detectors at the event’s east security checkpoint at around 8 p.m. and walked past security officers who ordered him to stop.

According to an arrest report, Wilton Manors police officers then detained Monheit and found a Glock 9 mm handgun clipped to his waistband, along with two loaded magazines.

Authorities said Monheit used to have a concealed weapons permit, but it was revoked at some point when he was Baker Acted.

“Law enforcement continues to investigate this incident to learn about Monheit’s motive and intentions, which (are) unknown at this time,” a news release from the Wilton Manors Police Department states.

Monheit, facing charges of armed trespassing and unlawful carry of a concealed weapon, was no longer listed in Broward Sheriff’s Office jail records as of Monday.
