Broward County Animal Care to showcase adoptable pets at Petco Love Mega Adoption Event

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Broward County Animal Care is preparing to showcase dozens of adoptable pets — including a lovable dog named Sully — during the Petco Love Mega Pet Adoption Event set for June 28, at Tree Tops Park in Davie.

A BCAC spokesperson told Local 10 News that Sully, who is believed to be about four months old, was found wandering alone along U.S. 441.

A concerned citizen spotted him and alerted authorities, who brought the pup to the animal shelter.

Zachary Rinkins, a BCAC staff member, says Sully is a mixed breed with traits resembling an American-style terrier.

“He’s perfect for a family that’s high-energy, likes to exercise and do a lot of activity,” said Rinkins. “He loves toys, he’s very affectionate, and he’s going to grow with the family.”

Sully is one of more than 140 dogs currently in the care of BCAC.

Many of them, including Sully, will be featured at the upcoming Petco Love Mega Pet Adoption Event. The event includes waived adoption fees for all pets. The only required cost is the pet registration fee.

“We’re participating with all of our animal welfare friends throughout the county,” Rinkins said. “We’re waiving adoption fees, and we’re looking forward to matching these pets with loving homes.”

Those interested in adopting Sully or another pet can begin their journey at PetAdoptions.Broward.org.

Adoption appointments can also be made by visiting Broward County Animal Care’s main location.

As for Sully, Rinkins says the young pup is eager to settle into a permanent home.

“He’s very adoptable,” he said. “He can’t wait to enter your home and be part of your family.”
