“If you prey upon our children, you had better pray we don’t find you,” Heekin said in a statement to men like Schmaltz, of Pensacola.

Investigators found evidence showing that Schmaltz had used 10 or more accounts to commit crimes such as sending sexually explicit content to the girls who lived in Florida and Alabama.

Schmaltz, who was awaiting his Sept. 18 sentencing in Pensacola, faced up to 30 years in prison and a lifetime of supervision upon release.
