No one was injured, but authorities said one vehicle was totaled and the other, though damaged, was still drivable. The problem: both cars were trapped beneath the fallen tree.
That’s when authorities said Sunrise Fire Rescue’s Special Operations Team, TRT92, stepped in.
Using careful coordination and specialized equipment, firefighters said they were able to remove the drivable vehicle safely, allowing the family to make arrangements to have its windshield repaired.
SFR officials credited “great leadership” and “great teamwork” among the responding crews for the successful operation.
The cause of the tree collapse was not immediately known.
