Arrest report details moments leading up to woman’s arrest that was caught on camera in Miami Beach

Irina Sufiullina, 34, remains jailed on immigration hold

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – An arrest report obtained Monday by Local 10 News details the moments leading up to a Russian woman’s arrest over the weekend in Miami Beach.

According to the report, Irina Sufiullina, 34, was arrested Saturday evening after crashing into a parked vehicle and a wall inside of a parking garage at 237 20th St.

The complainant, who works in the parking garage, told police that the driver of a red Mini Cooper had crashed into a parked vehicle and a wall on the sixth floor of the garage and then tried to leave.

Officers made contact with Sufiullina, who was driving with another female in the passenger seat, and noted that her eyes were watery and bloodshot.

According to the report, Sufiullina was asked to get out of the car and stumbled as she walked, swaying “in all directions.”

Police said despite the damage to her vehicle, Sufiullina denied being involved in a crash.

She agreed to complete a series of field sobriety tests, which she failed, authorities said.

According to the report, while an officer was attempting to administer the tests, Sufiullina said she needed to use the restroom and then started to walk back to her car.

Police said Sufiullina was stopped and told that she was being arrested, at which time she “began to resist by pulling and tensing her arms and turning to face the officers in an attempt to not be placed in handcuffs.”

According to the report, a brief struggle ensued and officers were “forced to place Sufiullina in the prone position to handcuff her.”

According to the report, Sufiullina kicked an officer in the chest while being placed in a police vehicle.

She was then transported to the Miami Beach police station, where she refused to submit to a breathalyzer test, the report stated.

Police said Sufiullina was then transported to Mount Sinai Medical Center for medical clearance, and during the transport she is accused of damaging the passenger-side door handle.

Sufiullina was arrested on charges of battery on a police officer, resisting an officer, driving under the influence and leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage.

As of Monday, she remained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on an immigration hold.
