MIAMI – A suspect stabbed two people at an apartment building in Miami’s Grapeland Heights neighborhood Monday afternoon, according to police.
It happened at around 2:30 p.m. at the Miami Riverfront Residences at 2601 NW 16th Street Road, police said.
Officer Kiara Delva, a spokesperson for the Miami Police Department, said the suspect stabbed a man who “confronted (him) for spitting on the premises.”
Police said he then stabbed a woman who intervened. Medics took both victims to Jackson Memorial Hospital; they’re expected to be OK.
“A possible suspect has been detained and the investigation remains ongoing,” Delva said.
Authorities have not yet publicly identified the suspected perpetrator.
