Costco Wholesale Clubs around the country will be closed on the 4th of July.

It’s one of the few days a year the wholesaler closes to the public.

According to Costco’s website, stores are also closed on Memorial Day, Labor Day, New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Store are expected to reopen on Saturday, July 5.

This week, locations across the country began opening at 9 a.m. for executive members.

Executive members pay $130 a year for their wholesale club membership. Gold star members pay $65 a year.

Last Autumn, the wholesaler installed membership scanning devices at the entrance of its warehouses.

A new Costco is also in the works for Miami-Dade County.

A pre-application was filed by the Costco Wholesale Corp. in April for a location just west of the Dolphin Mall.

The 20-acre site now under contract would be a neighbor to Topgolf Doral at 11850 N.W. 22nd St.

The proposed store would be just over 159,000 square feet and would be the wholesale company’s fifth location in the county.

Last May, the Miami-Dade County Commission voted 8-to-5 to sell a county-owned parcel to a developer, who plans to build another Costco Wholesale store in South Miami-Dade.

The Commission agreed to sell 17-acres of vacant land near Southwest 190th St. and 108th Ave. to developer Michael Swerdlow for $8.1 million.

Analysts say the sales price was well below the property’s assessed value.

The tract of land has been held by the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD).
