Felicia Charles, 49, was being sought in at least three thefts in Broward County.
She’s previously been jailed for a similar theft in Palm Beach County, where authorities noted in an arrest report that she bore a chest tattoo that read “Ms. Classy Lady.”
What she’s accused of is arguably anything but.
In the first Broward case, on June 26, 2021, Charles is accused of stealing a victim’s iPhone and credit cards at a home in Weston.
In the second case, on July 2, 2021, Fort Lauderdale police said two men out drinking downtown met Charles and another woman, identified as 39-year-old Sharonda Richardson, and invited the two women to one of the victims’ homes.
Police said the two men “felt like they were drugged at one point” and awoke to find their cash, credit cards and cellphones gone along with thousands of dollars in unauthorized transactions.
Broward court records show Richardson, of Lauderhill, was not in custody as of Thursday.
Authorities said the third Broward case took place on June 4, 2022 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Hollywood.
An arrest report from the Seminole Police Department states that Charles complimented the victim on a costume he was wearing for the Gumball 3000 Rally event and asked to see his other costumes.
Police said he obliged and took her up to his hotel room, which would prove costly.
After they got to the victim’s room, police said Charles told the man, “Come on, let’s get busy” and “It’ll be $500 to get busy.”
Authorities said the man declined and asked her to leave. Police said she did leave, but not empty-handed: she swiped the man’s $40,000 Rolex Daytona watch and $200 in cash he left on the refrigerator stand.
In the arrest report, tribal police Detective Dennis Stemen described a bizarre scene captured on video:
“CCTV surveillance footage shows the Victim and DEFENDANT (Charles) enter the Victim’s room together. DEFENDANT is in possession of her purse, wearing a dress with knee-high boots. CCTV surveillance shows the DEFENDANT exit the Victim’s room wearing no clothes, or boots. She has only her purse with her. DEFENDANT immediately runs down the hallway to the opposite end and enters the stairwell. CCTV footage shows DEFENDANT exiting the stairwell on a lower floor where she is seen dressing herself as she runs to the elevator lobby. DEFENDANT enters the elevator and in a hurried manner leaves the property.”
Seminole Police Department report
Meanwhile, court records show Charles is facing an open case out of Palm Beach County.
Delray Beach police arrested her on Sept. 12, 2021 on several charges.
Police there said she drove by a 66-year-old Islamorada man, in town visiting his son, as he walked down the street, and offered him a ride home.
An arrest report states the man fell asleep after getting home and woke to police officers knocking on his door and his phone and credit cards missing, along with an envelope containing $7,900.
Officers said they were there because they had pulled over Charles, who was driving an SUV registered to a Wisconsin man and in possession of a fake Louisiana driver’s license under the name “Kendra Charles.”
Police said they were suspicious and after Charles said she was staying at a “friend’s apartment” ― actually where the victim was staying ― they wanted to check for themselves that her story was legitimate.
Authorities said they dialed the victim’s phone number and his cellphone, which Charles claimed was hers, rang in her purse. Police said the man identified Charles as the woman who picked him up.
Police said Charles claimed that the man “placed his phone, bank cards and loose cash” while they were getting gas and she didn’t tell him that he was “forgetting his stuff” and said “so that’s on me.”
The report states that Charles claimed she won the $7,900 at a casino.
As for her Broward cases, Charles is facing multiple grand theft charges as well as a count of criminal use of personal identification information.
As of Thursday, Charles was being held in the Broward Sheriff’s Office Main Jail facility in Fort Lauderdale on a $20,000 bond, online records show.
