Authorities said the fire was limited to brush and debris on private property and did not threaten any nearby structures.

They said approximately 35 firefighters responded to the scene, using several fire engine companies and a specialized water tender to help suppress the flames.

Investigators said crews brought the fire under control within an hour, though firefighters remained on site for several hours to douse hot spots.

As a precaution, authorities said parts of U.S. 27 were temporarily shut down during the response. The roadway was later reopened and traffic is now flowing normally.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
