MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A man from metro Detroit was arrested in South Florida after authorities said he struck a Miami Beach cop with a Dodge Charger as the officer tried to pull him over on Sunday.
Police said Jaylen Enoch Ali, 22, of Redford Township, Michigan, was doing donuts at Eighth Street and Collins Avenue in the green and gray Charger at around 4:10 a.m.

An arrest report states four officers, riding two all-terrain vehicles, tried to pull Ali over as he started to head west on Eighth Street.
Authorities said after the officers turned on their lights and sirens, Ali “dangerously sped off” and ”drove towards officers with full disregard.“
He sideswiped one of the ATVs and hit one of the officers in the leg as the officer tried to get out to stop him, the report states, causing minor injuries.
Authorities said they put out a be-on-the-lookout notice and another officer stopped Ali as he waited at a red light at Fifth Street and Michigan Avenue.
Police then took him into custody on charges of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, aggravated fleeing and eluding and resisting without violence.
Jail records indicate that a Miami-Dade judge found probable cause on only the fleeing and eluding charge and ordered he be released outright on the latter two counts. He also faces traffic citations for reckless driving and drag racing.
Jail records show he was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $5,000 bond as of Monday afternoon.
