AVENTURA, Fla. – After storms brought flooding on Monday, cities prepared for the possibility of more waterlogged streets on Tuesday.
Officials in Aventura put up cones and barricades on flood-prone streets.
“It helps. It definitely helps, especially when they can come back here in the morning and there’s less traffic and they can get everything resolved first thing in the morning,” Hector Valera, who works in Aventura, said.
The city alerted residents that Northeast 193rd Street would be closed.
“It pushes everyone behind because there’s flooding happening,” Stephanie Schultz, who works in Aventura, said. “We have to be rerouted and it creates more traffic.”
She added, “It’ll be interesting to see how my day goes.”
Officials asked residents to use alternate routes.
