POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A man died Tuesday morning after he was struck by a Tri-Rail train while on the tracks in Pompano Beach, the Broward Sheriff’s Office confirmed.

According to BSO, deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded to the scene near the 3400 block of Northwest Eighth Avenue just before 7:15 a.m.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
BSO’s Crime Scene and Homicide Unit were notified and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatality, but foul play is not suspected, authorities confirmed.
The victim’s identity has not been released, and BSO did not immediately say why he was on the tracks when the train was passing through.
