MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. ā Newly released home surveillance video shows disturbing alleged abuse of a young child by his step father.
The video, released by the Miami-Dade State Attorneyās Office, shows Zachary Perez allegedly abusing his 6-year-old stepson over the course of two days.
The incidents in question happened in May, officials said.
In one video, the 42-year-old can be seen walking his stepson around while the boy has a dog collar wrapped around his neck, with Perez holding a pink leash.
Video also captured Perez allegedly yanking the boy to the ground, chasing him with a stick and then kicking him multiple times.
The little boyās mother reported the crime to police, who said he allegedly threatened her as well.
Back in May, Perezās mother testified in court her that son suffers from a traumatic brain injury and PTSD.
At that time, a judge denied him bail, fearing he may harm others if released.
However, on June 10, he was released on house arrest.
Per Perezās house arrest agreement, he must stay 500 feet away from the parties involved and have no direct or indirect contact with them.
Heās scheduled to be back in court on Aug. 28.
