According to an arrest affidavit, the victim told Miami police officers that she was with Tarnorris Larkel Bowens, 39, on May 10 when the two got into a dispute while using her vehicle to deliver food through DoorDash.

Both were using the delivery platform through their phones, the affidavit states.

The woman said Bowens was “extremely intoxicated” and insisted on getting something to eat, prompting her to drive him to a McDonald’s at 599 NW 62nd St.

Shortly after, authorities said an argument followed, which led to the victim dropping her iPhone inside the vehicle.

When she opened the driver’s side door to retrieve it, Bowens allegedly grabbed her by the face and forced her back into the car, according to to the affidavit.

In self-defense, police said she struck Bowens in the nose, causing it to bleed.

Bowens then began screaming and striking her in the head multiple times, the affidavit stated.

The victim said Bowens demanded she take him home, and as she began driving, he threatened to kill her, authorities said.

Fearing for her safety, police said she pulled up to MPD’s substation at 1000 NW 62nd St. and told him to get out, but he refused.

She then drove to the area of Northwest Eighth Avenue and Northwest 58th Street and again asked him to leave the vehicle.

At that point, Bowens exited, stood beside the driver’s side window, and allegedly fired two shots into the vehicle, according to investigators.

Police said one bullet grazed the woman’s left arm and the gunfire caused an estimated $500 in damage to the driver’s side and rear windows.

They said the victim called 911 and attempted to follow Bowens but lost sight of him near Northwest Seventh Court between Northwest 58th and 60th streets.

Police issued a warrant for Bowens’ arrest on charges including attempted first-degree murder with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon, throwing a deadly missile, unlawful discharge of a firearm in public, simple battery and criminal mischief.

A motive for the shooting has not been disclosed at this time.

As of Thursday, he is being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
