The dark green cucumbers, from five to nine inches long, were distributed by Fresh Start Produce Sales inc. of Delray Beach between May 17 and May 21, according to the FDA.

The FDA said the recall was initiated after the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture found that a sample of the cucumber tested positive for salmonella.

The produce was shipped to food service distributors in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Consumers with additional questions may contact the company at 1-888-364-2993, M-F, 8:00 a.m.—5:00 p.m. EDT.
