Check your refrigerator, an important recall has been issued over butter that may contain fecal contamination.
Cabot Creamery announced the voluntary recall last week for its Cabot Creamery 8oz Extra Creamy Premium Butter.

Elevated levels of coliform were found in the product. According to the Maine Center for Disease Control & Prevention, Coliform bacteria make up a large group of bacteria that are found in soils, on plants, and in surface water. Certain coliform bacteria live in the intestines of humans and animals.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the recall includes nearly 1,700 pounds of butter, which would include 189 cases.
The printed expiration date for the product is 09/09/25 with a code of 072 or 073 and a UPC: 0 78354 62038 0.
The butter was sent to Arkansas, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Maine, New Hampshire, New York and Connecticut.
