Airbnb is being upfront about its pricing, now displaying the total price of a rental per night, plus taxes on default.

According to a post by the travel company on Monday, guests will see the total price of their stay including all of the fees before taxes.

"We know that clear, upfront pricing improves the Airbnb experience for both guests and hosts. In the last few years, we’ve introduced several tools to help hosts better understand how much guests pay, and help them set more competitive pricing, including discounts, promotions, price tips, and our similar listings tool," according to the post.

This comes ahead of the changes set into motion by the Federal Trade Commission that would require hotels, vacation rental platforms and live event promoters to disclose any fees up front when they list prices.

Those changes are expected to go into effect May 12.
