Biden announces ‘roadmap’ to Israel-Hamas ceasefire, responds to Trump’s reaction to verdict

President Joe Biden announced on Friday at the White House that Israel had offered Hamas a “roadmap” to cease the war in Gaza.

The Israeli military announced the offensive since the Hamas attack on Oct. 7 continued in Rafah where troops found rocket launchers and tunnels.

“It’s a roadmap to an enduring ceasefire and the return of all hostages,” Biden said adding it had three phases.

The first phase is a ceasefire that would last for six weeks and allow Palestinian civilians to return to their homes and receive aid. The second phase includes a hostage exchange and the third phase is reconstruction.

“Hamas no longer is capable of carrying out another Oct. 7,” Biden said.

Biden also responded to former President Donald Trump’s statement on Friday in Manhattan responding to the guilty verdict.

“It’s reckless, it’s dangerous, it’s irresponsible for anyone to say this is rigged just because they don’t like the verdict,” Biden said.
