“It’s about retribution for our most vulnerable,” Jacques said about the bill during a recent public meeting.
Florida Sen. Jonathan Martin, a Fort Myers-based Republican, sponsored Florida Senate Bill 1604, and companion SB 1804 to support the same measures.
Jacques the careers and workforce subcommittee’s chair, and Martin, the criminal justice chair, are both attorneys who identify as Christian.
