SUNRISE, Fla. – Sam Reinhart scored the game-clinching goal in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final and now the Florida Panthers are keeping him home.
Panthers General Manager Bill Zito announced in a press release Monday morning that the team has agreed to terms with Reinhart on an eight-year contract extension through the 2031-32 season.

The deal is for $69 million, according to ESPN.
“Since coming to South Florida, Sam has demonstrated his ability to be a powerful scoring threat while maintaining strong defensive play,” said Zito in Monday’s press release. “His versatility and value as a player are only outshined by his premier personality and work ethic, and we are pleased to have him continue on with our group.”
Reinhart, 28, led Florida with a career-high 57 goals and 94 points over a span of 82 games this season.
He also scored an NHL-leading 27 power-play goals which were the most in Panthers history.
According to the press release, Reinhart “broke several other franchise records this season, including for longest goal streak (eight consecutive games, Jan. 2-17) and longest road goal streak (nine consecutive road games, Dec. 18-Jan. 27). He also tied for the league lead in OT goals (3).”
Reinhart also met with hundreds Florida Panthers fans at Dick’s Sporting Goods in the Sawgrass Mall on Thursday.

The Florida Panthers have also resigned defenceman Dmitry Kulikov.
According to NHL insider Bob McKenzie, Kulikov and the Panthers have agreed on a 4-year- contract extension for 4 years, for an average of 1.15 million per season.
