MIAMI – The Copa América final is between Argentina and Colombia at 8 p.m., on Sunday, at the Hard Rock Stadium, in Miami Gardens.

Miami-Dade County officials expect over 60,000 fans will be at the stadium and local fans will flood restaurants, bars, and watch parties across South Florida.

Here are some facts about Colombia’s team:

  • Colombia’s national team hasn’t lost 28 matches since losing to Argentina 1-0 on Feb. 1, 2022.
  • To get to the final, Colombia was undefeated in five matches. The Cafeteros beat Paraguay 2-1 on June 24, Costa Rica 3-0 on June 28, tied with Brazil 1-1 on July 2, and beat Panama 5-0 on July 6, and Uruguay 1-0 on July 10.
  • Before Copa América 2024, Colombia already had a run of 23 games undefeated.
  • Since the Copa América started in 1916, Colombia won first place once in 2001 and second place in 1975.
  • The team’s star is James Rodríguez, a midfielder who plays for São Paulo FC and has a fierce left-foot strike. His father was a Colombian national team player. He was born on July 12, 1991, in Cúcuta.
  • Daniel Muñoz won’t be playing. A referee handed him a red card after he swung his elbow at Uruguay’s Manuel Ugarte, who he claimed had pinched him.
  • Néstor Lorenzo has been the team’s head coach since July 9, 2022. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
  • Colombia’s national soccer team has never won the FIFA World Cup’s first or second place.
