Legendary Dolphins RB Mercury Morris dies at age of 77

MIAMI – One of the key members of the 1972 Dolphins has died.

Eugene “Mercury” Morris died at the age of 77, according to his family.

He was a two-time Super Bowl Champion and 3-time Pro Bowl selection.

Morris was known for being outspoken with pride about the accomplishments of the Perfect Dolphins.

He was featured in commercials celebrating the accomplishment with “Perfectville: Population 1.”

His family wrote, “Beyond the field, Mercury was a devoted father, a loving brother, a loyal friend, and a pillar of the community. His presence extended far beyond football as he touched the lives of many throughout his time in Miami.”
