Mike McDaniel won’t tip his hand about quarterback for Monday Night game

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – We know it won’t be Tua Tagovailoa.

The Dolphins starter is on injured reserve with a concussion and will miss at least the next three games.

However, who will be under center for the Dolphins Monday Night showdown with the Titans remains unknown.

Quarterback Skylar Thompson suffered a chest injury during Miami’s loss to the Seahawks.

He’s listed as day-to-day.

The Dolphins signed Tyler Huntley over a week ago.

The question is can he learn the offense quickly enough to start.

The Dolphins also have Tim Boyle as a third option.

Head coach Mike McDaniel said Thursday, “I have in my mind how I think it can play out. It’s a little premature for a multitude of reasons the very last being a competitive advantage piece.”

McDaniel wants to see how things play out rather than “wishing things into existence.”
