Messi launches new fragrance line, receives Marca America award

Messi Eau de Parfum is available exclusively at JCPenney

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Soccer legend Lionel Messi continues to solidify his legacy both on and off the pitch.

On a sunny Thursday afternoon in Miami, Messi was awarded the prestigious Marca America Award at Chase Stadium, honoring his unparalleled success in the world of soccer.

Presented by Marca Director Juan Ignacio Gallardo, the award recognizes players who have amassed the most titles and honors in the sport’s history.

Inter Miami CF co-owner Jorge Mas, who was instrumental in bringing Messi to Major League Soccer, joined the ceremony.

The Marca America Award now sits among Messi’s numerous Ballon d’Or trophies, World Cup title and countless other accolades that have made him a global icon.

But Messi’s day didn’t end with accolades.

He’s making waves beyond the soccer pitch by expanding his business empire with the launch of his own fragrance line.

Tapping into the world of luxury scents, Messi has unveiled Messi Eau de Parfum, a fragrance designed for those who want to embrace a little piece of the star’s greatness.

The cologne, priced at around $75 for a 3.4-ounce bottle, is the latest addition to Messi’s off-field ventures. As one of the world’s most marketable athletes, Messi is no stranger to endorsements and brand deals, but this marks his foray into the fragrance industry.

His fans, who have followed him for decades, now have a new way to feel connected to their hero — not just by watching him on the field but by wearing a scent that bears his name.

To mark the fragrance launch, Local 10 Sports Director Will Manso visited Inter Miami’s training complex in Fort Lauderdale, where Messi’s Inter Miami teammates Noah Allen and Ian Fray gave the scent a test run. “If you could say what Messi’s cologne should smell like, it’s probably greatness,” Allen quipped.

Fray added, “It’s a date night scent, for sure. I’m pretty sure my girlfriend is going to love this.” After giving the scent a try, both players agreed that it was a fitting addition to Messi’s already impressive lineup of personal ventures.

The playful tone continued as the athletes were asked what a cologne inspired by Messi should smell like. Fray joked, “Maybe like a goat?”—a nod to Messi’s “Greatest of All Time” status in the soccer world.

The launch of Messi Eau de Parfum adds another dimension to Messi’s global influence. With his move to Miami, Messi has not only transformed the local soccer scene but is also expanding his reach into fashion and lifestyle. As his new fragrance hit the shelves, it became available exclusively at JCPenney, adding to its allure and exclusivity for fans eager to get a whiff of greatness.

“Messi’s impact goes beyond what you see on the field,” said Manso. “He’s building a legacy that touches different industries. Whether it’s fashion, cologne, or soccer, Messi brings the same level of excellence to everything he does.”

As Messi continues to cement his legacy in Miami, one thing is clear: whether on the field or in business, Messi is always at the top of his game.

For now, fans can enjoy watching their hero at Inter Miami, while perhaps sporting a bit of Messi magic themselves with his new fragrance — further proof that Lionel Messi is a global sensation whose impact transcends the boundaries of soccer.
