Let the games begin.
The Miami Heat will tip-off the 2024-2025 season Wednesday night at the Kaseya Center against the Orlando Magic.
For the Heat, it’s been a long offseason after they were knocked out of the first round of the NBA Playoffs by the eventual champions, the Boston Celtics.
Captain Bam Adebayo said Tuesday, “We’re excited to get the season going, we had a long offseason that we’re not used to. You know a lot of guys got to get away, go away and we’re ready to hoop again.”
Guard Tyler Herro said, “I feel like the first-day-of-school feeling was Training Camp, the Bahamas kind of thing. It’s still an excitement ever since we were little kids being able to play that first game from middle school, to high school, college, to now, it’s all the same. We’re just excited to get the season underway, excited to be at home, play in front of our fans.”
The Heat didn’t make any sweeping offseason changes to the core of the roster. Meanwhile, several other teams like the Knicks and 76ers made major moves in the East. That has led to many doubters of what this Heat team can do.
Forward Jimmy Butler addressed the doubters.
Butler said, “I got too much stuff going on in my life to worry what other individuals think of myself, my squad, and my organization. We keep our heads down and do what we’re supposed to do. Whenever we’re right at the end, we already knew it.”
