Miami will look to rebound after a 30-17 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving, while the Jets continue to struggle through a disappointing season. Even though both teams have fallen short of expectations, Sunday’s game holds importance for both, with the Dolphins still in the playoff race and the Jets facing elimination with a loss.

The Dolphins lead the all-time series with a 60-56-1 record and have dominated in recent years, winning 11 of the last 13 meetings, including the last three consecutive games. The Jets’ last win in Miami came back in 2014.

Top 3 Reasons to Watch:

No. 3: Can Miami’s Star Receivers Take Advantage of an Injured Jets Secondary?

The Jets will be likely be without top cornerback Sauce Gardner who was listed as doubtful on the team’s injury report.

Miami’s passing game has been effective lately, and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has connected with wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle for some big plays in past matchups.

If Gardner, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, is unable to play, the Dolphins’ wide receivers could have a strong performance. Gardner’s absence could also create opportunities for tight end Jonnu Smith, who won’t have to face linebacker C.J. Mosley, placed on Injured Reserve with a neck injury. Hill needs to average 70 yards per game over the next five weeks to reach 1,000 yards for the fifth straight season, while Waddle needs about 80 yards per game to hit 1,000 yards for the fourth consecutive year.

No. 2: Can Miami Still Make the Playoffs?

For the Dolphins (5-7) to stay in playoff contention, they’ll likely need to win out. Their remaining schedule includes games against the Jets, Houston Texans, San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, and another road matchup against “Gang Green.” Miami is currently 2.5 games behind the Denver Broncos for the AFC’s seventh playoff spot. If they end up tied with the Broncos, the Dolphins would win the tiebreaker due to a better conference record. However, Miami’s playoff chances stand at just 9%, but they’re still in the hunt, according to Playoffstatus.com.

No. 1: Is This Aaron Rodgers’ Last Game at Hard Rock Stadium?

It’s no secret that Aaron Rodgers, who celebrated his 41st birthday this week, has had a rough 2024 campaign with the Jets. Last week, he threw a costly pick-six in a 26-21 loss to the Seahawks, and the Jets’ offense has struggled to close out games. With the Jets at 3-9, the team is expected to make head coaching and GM changes, which could mark the end of Rodgers’ career and possibly his last appearance at Hard Rock Stadium.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
